Students

During the day, students attend our Beijing partner programs, joining native students for playful learning in Mandarin. Children, ages 4-6 fully participate in the daily life of a private preschool, while our older students enjoy the fast-paced fun of a summer camp for elementary students. The curriculum is co-created by Bilingual Buds and therefore age appropriate, high energy and well integrated with what our students are learning both inside and outside the classroom. Puppetry, painting, cooking, calligraphy, Chinese paper cutting, chess and martial arts make up a small taste of what's explored. English-speaking staff will be on hand for students when needed; however, it is our commitment to maintain a full immersion environment to maximize language acquisition. Parents

Parents are busy with a daily "curriculum" of their own, experiencing the enchanting city of Beloved Beijing. Guided sightseeing and shopping adventures include Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Beihai Park, Lama Temple, Wanfujing Street, Silk Market, and more. Some additional enrichment opportunities will be available a la carte (e.g., a Mandarin primer class, tai chi instruction, historical walking tours, etc.)

On weekends, the larger group will tour kid-friendly attractions including Olympic Park, an acrobatics show, China Science and Technology Museum, and others. In addition to an exciting itinerary, families are given ample free time to head out on their own or relax in the comfort of their hotel room.

Accommodations

The Somerset Zhong Guan Cun is a well-appointed, 5-star executive residence, offering both one and two-bedroom apartment hotel accommodations. Amenities include 24-hour reception, fully equipped kitchens, laundry, WiFi, business center, indoor pool & sauna, fully equipped gym and playroom. Located in Asia's "Silicon Valley" and a short ride from Olympic Village, the hotel offers our families easy access to sightseeing, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

Transportation

The group will travel using a new, 53-passenger, air-conditioned tour bus with seatbelts that can accommodate car seats or boosters if provided by the parents. The bus will transport children to school in the morning, and parents and families on our various expeditions. Note that airfare to Beijing is neither arranged nor included. However, transportation to and from the hotel on arrival and departure days is included in the cost of the trip to allow ease of mind for our travelers. Beijing roasted duck

Meals

Families will eat breakfast independently, and during the week, children will eat hot lunch provided by their school. For group meals (scheduled on certain days and indicated in advance), we have planned a range of exciting dining experiences, including both traditional and western cuisine. A celebratory dinner of Beijing roasted duck will be held to memorialize a special night of the trip.
