After School
The After School program focuses on all areas of language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
During each 90-minute session, students ages 5-10 enter a full immersion environment where inspired, native-speaking teachers bring lessons to life.
Drawing from the Day School's curriculum, science, the arts, culture and technology are integrated into high-energy themes and creative projects.
Classes meet from 3:45 PM to 5:15 PM two or three afternoons
per week during the school year. We offer multiple classes, 6-8 students in size, to maximize students' individualized attention and support. Class placement is therefore determined by both age
and ability to ensure the best fit.
After School families are a welcome addition to the Bilingual Buds' community and enjoy invitations to school events, weekly newsletters, parent/teacher conferences, and access to support resources.
Bilingual Buds' full immersion model is based on children's innate ability to acquire language at an early age. Communication is ignited when content is engaging and personally relevant to the classroom community—whether day-to-day vocabulary or academic subject matter. Students are naturally motivated to connect with their teacher, socialize with their peers, and express their needs and emotions. Our inspired, native-speaking teachers use a wealth of progressive teaching techniques to aid comprehension. Dramatic presentations and role playing, enticing manipulatives, visuals, long-term project studies, as well as music and technology help a challenging curriculum come alive for early language learners.Immersion
